Extra Yard for Teachers Award

Today, the”Extra Yard for Teachers Award” was presented by the University of Utah Athletic Department on behalf of the College Football Playoff Foundation to our Newman teachers.   Teachers were acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to our students as we move forward this year in remote learning.  Usually this award is given during a football game ceremony.  Since we are unable to all meet together at this time, it was presented during a small, informal Zoom call.  That doesn't lessen the weight of this acknowledgement.  During the Zoom call the presenter stated that "we are awarding Newman with $1,923 for their commitment in embracing remote learning."  We are working together to make remote learning effective and meaningful for our students.  Please know that others see the work you do and recognize the impact.
