Newman School is an educational community committed to individual progress in a supportive and challenging atmosphere where leadership is a premium value.
Our Mission is to help students become active, life-long learners who are able to manage change. We are committed to empower each student to become a responsible member and leader in society who promotes and demonstrates respect for the worth, rights, and privileges of all.
Our goal is for every year of attendance a student will show at least a year's improvement. After three years of attendance a student will be at or above grade level.
Newman Elementary School is one of the first traditional K-6 public schools in Utah to adopt the Leader in Me Program. Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, Newman Elementary School implemented an initiative to infuse the "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" Leadership Principles into our way of doing business. Students are taught the principles and have opportunities to practice them as they develop the skills necessary to become effective leaders at school, at home and in their community.
